Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Stoneham.
STONEHAM, MA — There are 33 positive cases of the coronavirus in Stoneham as of March 31, according to the latest numbers from the town. The Stoneham Board of Health said it will update the town's case count every Tuesday by 5 p.m.
State officials extended the closure of nonessential businesses through May 4. As further testing becomes available, health officials expect to see a surge in confirmed cases across the state and at home.
The Stoneham Board of Health said it is still receiving reports about congregations and group activities on public fields. Continued reports like these will lead to the closure of fields and other areas, the town said.

The Stoneham Senior Center released the following statement:
It is up to each of us to keep our community safe and strong and we spend some time #alonetogether. If you have elderly neighbors that you have not seen recently, please give them a call to make sure they have everything they need. They might be too proud or private to ask for help, or they may not know that help is available. Please call the Senior Center at 781-438-1157 Monday through Thursday if a senior that you know is in need of help during this time. We can provide a box of household essentials, referrals to other services that they need.
