O'Neill Defeats Rotondi in Stoneham Selectmen's Race

Ann Marie O'Neill will be the newest member of the Stoneham Board of Selectmen after defeating former Selectman R. Paul Rotondi on Tuesday, according to special election results provided by the Town Clerk's office.
O'Neill won all seven voting precincts in Stoneham, tallying 3,108 votes compared to Rotondi's 1,890. O'Neill will serve a nine-month term, filling the vacated seat left by former Selectman Richard Gregorio.

Meanwhile, Democrat Edward Markey beat Republican challenger Gabriel Gomez in the special state election. In Stoneham, Markey narrowly defeated Gomez, 2,662 to 2,557.
Markey, a longtime Congressman, will fill the Senate seat vacated by John Kerry after he became the Secretary of State for the Obama Administration.
