Person Trapped, Route 93 Blocked After Double-Vehicle Rollover

STONEHAM, MA — A person became trapped and Route 93 North has been blocked after a double-vehicle rollover in Stoneham Friday afternoon, Stoneham Fire Department said.
The crash occurred around 12:36 p.m. just before the Montvale Avenue exit, the department said.
Officials found two vehicles rolled onto their side, one in the breakdown lane and another about 50 yards up the road in the high-speed lane, according to Stoneham Fire. A third vehicle involved in the crash was also in the high-speed lane, about 100 yards farther up the road, the department added.

Fire crews used hydraulic extrication tools to cut the roof off one of the vehicles that was on its side to free a person inside, according to Stoneham Fire. That person was taken along with two others to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, the department said.
A photo shared by Stoneman Fire just after 1 p.m. showed congestion in all northbound lanes.
