Police Pursuit Of Stolen Truck Ends In Stoneham

The truck crashed on a ramp to I-93 after police chased it from the Stone Zoo.

STONEHAM, MA — A police pursuit of a stolen truck ended in a crash in Stoneham early Thursday, State Police said. Boston police initially pursued the vehicle, which was stolen from Feeney Brothers Utility Services, but stopped when it started driving south on I-93 North.

Around 1:30 a.m., the company reported that the truck's GPS showed it was in the Stone Zoo parking lot. The driver fled again when police arrived, and troopers chased it on the Fellsway, State Police said.

The truck crashed on the ramp from Fellsway East to I-93 South in Stoneham. The suspect, 38-year-old Joseph Maloof, was arrested at the scene. He was not injured in the crash, police said.

Maloof was held overnight and will be arraigned Thursday.
