Resignation Leaves Opening On Stoneham School Committee

The Stoneham School Committee and Select Board will elect a replacement to fill Rachel Meredith-Warren's seat until the 2021 election.

STONEHAM, MA — The town is seeking a volunteer to serve on the Stoneham School Committee to fill an immediate vacancy following the resignation of Rachel Meredith-Warren. The interim member will serve until the April 2021 Town Election.

To serve on the School Committee you must me a resident of Stoneham, a registered voter and be willing to serve on the Committee until April 2021. At that time, the town will elect a replacement to complete the remainder of Meredith-Warren's three-year term, which expires in April 2022.

Town officials did not say why Meredith-Warren resigned. Interested applicants must email letters of interest and/or resumes to the Stoneham Select Board at dkilbride@stoneham-ma.gov on or before Nov. 6. Letters of interest that are received after Nov. 6 will not be considered.

The Select Board and remaining School Committee members will meet on or about Nov. 10 to fill the vacancy by a majority vote.
