Stoneham General Election Early Voting Now Underway

STONEHAM, MA — Early in-person voting in Stoneham began on Saturday as the town kicks off roughly two weeks of voting before next month’s state general election.

Early voting is taking place in the auditorium of Stoneham Town Hall at 35 Central St.

• Saturday, Oct. 22; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 24; 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Tuesday, Oct. 25; 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Wednesday, Oct. 26; 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Thursday, Oct. 27; 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 28; 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 29; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 31; 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Tuesday, Nov. 1; 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
• Wednesday, Nov. 2; 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 3; 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 4; 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

There will be no in-person early voting on Sunday, Oct. 23 or Sunday, Oct. 30.

Here are some other key voting dates and deadlines to keep in mind:

• Oct. 29; Last day for voter registration
• Nov. 1; Deadline to send a vote by mail application to receive a ballot in time for Election Day
• Nov. 7; Deadline to request an absentee ballot in person
• Nov. 8; Election Day

Election Day voting will run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall.

Voters in Stoneham in this year's election will settle a contested race in the 5th Middlesex State Senate district, where incumbent and Democrat Jason Lewis is running against Republican challenger Ed Dombroski.

That race was in the spotlight on Monday of this past week as Lewis and Dombroski met for a debate in Wakefield. Both Lewis and Dombroski have also outlined their campaign platforms in Patch candidate questionnaires in recent weeks:

• Jason Lewis (Democrat)
• Ed Dombroski (Republican)

Outside of the state senate race, Stoneham voters will also weigh in on a number of state contested races and ballot questions.
