Stoneham Overnight Parking Ban Begins Soon
The parking ban will remain in place until April 1.

STONEHAM, MA — Stoneham drivers will need to avoid parking on public streets beginning later this week as the town’s winter parking regulations take effect.
The regulations begin on Dec. 1 to remain in place until April 1. Under town rules, parking is prohibited on all town streets between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Violators will face a $25 fine.
Officials will declare a parking emergency if and when more than three-inches of snow accumulates in a given storm. On-street parking is banned at all times during a parking emergency. Violators can be ticketed and/or towed.

The town noted upcoming parking regulations on Sunday.
Among comments, officials emphisized that parking is always banned on sidewalks.

“This often becomes a problem in the winter when residents attempt to comply with winter parking restrictions by placing cars on the sidewalk,” the town said. “This is not only illegal – it is also dangerous for pedestrians trying to negotiate the sidewalks in already difficult circumstances.”
