Stoneham Plans First Annual Field Of Honor For Veterans Day
Residents can honor their heroes with an American flag on the Central Middle School field. Flags will be available for public viewing 24/7.
STONEHAM, MA — The Memorial/Veterans Day Committee of Stoneham will hold the first annual Field of Honor observance the week of Veterans Day. On Nov. 6-14, community members can honor their heroes with an American flag on the Central Middle School field at the corner of Central and Williams Streets.
Hundreds of flags will be in display for public viewing 24 hours a day during the event. Flags can be purchased in memory or honor of service members, past and present, regardless of where they live.
First responders including police, fire and rescue, as well as EMT, paramedics and COVID-19 heroes, can be recognized as well. Proceeds from the Field of Honor will benefit the Stoneham Veterans Assistance Fund. For more info or to volunteer, contact stonehamveterans@gmail.com.

- Opening Ceremony: Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.
- Veterans Day Ceremony: Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
- Closing Ceremony: Sunday, Nov. 14 at 12 p.m.
- Taps will be played daily at 5 p.m.
