Stoneham To Start Main Street Water Main Project Monday
Crews will install a new 12-inch water main through a portion of downtown Stoneham over the next three months.

STONEHAM, MA — Stoneham will begin a nearly three-month water main project along Main Street on Monday.
Though preparing for several weeks of work, town officials are not anticipating traffic detours related to the project, Director of Public Works Brett Gonsalves told Patch on Friday.
A contractor will spend the next two weeks laying bypass piping for the project. From there, crews will begin the actual water main installation.

A previous statement from the town earlier this month estimated that the project would be complete by mid-November.
The finished project will add a new 12-inch water main running from Main Street’s intersection with Elm Street to the corner of Main Street and Maple Street.
