Ten Things You Didn’t Know About the Stoneham Senior Center
Or maybe you know some of them
A Monday morning visit to the Senior Center at 136 Elm St. had many “Wow” moments. Walking around, I noticed people working out, playing games, getting counseling and discussing books. Others were sitting out on the deck relishing the beautiful weather or just enjoying each other’s company.

Number 10: They welcome guests from Stoneham as well as other towns.

Number 9: Instead of a Christmas in July sale, they offer Christmas in September sale.
Number 8: Bocce, BINGO and bridge every Wednesday.

Number 7: Blood pressure testing every second Wednesday.
Number 6: A non-profit group called the Senior Center Friends raises funds to help support programs and services.
Number 5: Cribbage, cribbage, cribbage!
Number 4: See them for gently used canes, commodes, wheelchairs, walkers, and more at no cost!
Number 3: The youngest guests are in their 60s and the oldest is 96!
Number 2: They are the only Center around who offers chair caning services to the public.
And the Number 1 thing you probably didn’t know about the Senior Center: 25 cent greeting cards for sale at the front entrance!
