Thousands are expected to pay respects as Massachusetts State Trooper Tamar Bucci is laid to rest Wednesday in Revere.

REVERE, MA — Thousands are expected to give a final farewell to Tamar Bucci, the Massachusetts State Trooper killed in a crash Thursday night.
Bucci will be laid to rest Wednesday in Revere. Her funeral will begin at Saint Anthony of Padua Church at 11 a.m. Scores of people turned out for Bucci's wake Tuesday at the same location.
Bucci, 34, was killed when a tanker truck hit her cruiser as she attempted to pull over on I-93 in Stoneham to help a driver.

Revere canceled school ahead of the expected large turnout. The following roads will be closed from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.:

Bucci was born in Melrose and lived in Woburn. She graduated from Andover High and Middlesex Community College before graduating the State Police academy in May 2020. She previously worked security at Encore Boston and was a personal trainer.
"Tamar was beautiful from the inside out," her obituary read. "When she walked into a room people were drawn to her magnetic energy. She had a way of making others feel at home with her radiating smile and playful sense of humor. Tamar knew how to find joy in difficult times and never hesitated to put herself behind the needs of others."
