What We Know About the Littleton Tigers
Stoneham to face Littleton in Worcester with winner headed to MIAA Super Bowl at Gillette.

So close just a year ago, Foley Field can't be the end of the line for their MIAA Super Bowl title hopes.
Are we talking about Stoneham, which lost to Middleboro in last year's Division 6 state semifinal? Or Littleton, which lost to Middleboro in last year's Division 6 Super Bowl? Both teams enter Saturday's state semifinal in Worcester hoping to improve on their 2017 finish. The only thing for sure is that neither will have to deal with Middleboro.
Competing in the Central Mass Mid-Wach Conference (short for Midland-Wachusett), Littleton is 8-2 and finished second behind Maynard. An expected Maynard-Littleton title game was sidetracked when top-seeded Maynard was upset by Blackstone-Millville in the first round. Littleton did its part, beating Millbury, 37-22, then taking care of Blackstone, 34-0, in the final.

The Tigers averaged 32.2 ppg while giving up just 10.9, including four shutouts. The two losses came on opening day to West Boylston (24-6) and to Maynard (22-20) in October. Since that loss to Maynard, Littleton has won three straight.
Littleton, which won a Super Bowl title in 2013 when it beat Cohasset, can run or pass with equal effectiveness. Coach Mike Lynn trusts his skill players, in part because they're his sons. Sophomore quarterback Braden Lynn has thrown for more than 1,000 yards this fall, with almost half the yardage going to his brother and senior wideout Austin. Freshman kicker Cody Shearer has been a find for the Tigers and having an excellent season as well.
