1. Deadline to License Your Dog

The deadline to license your dog in Stoughton is April 30.

Town of Stoughton dog licenses expire December 31 each year. The town gives residents a four month grace period to license their dogs again from January to April.

The registration fee is $15 or $10 if the dog is spayed/neutered.

Dog owners will be subject to an additional $25 late fee if the dog is not licensed by May 1. And, dog owners will receive an additional $25 fine if the dog is not licensed by June 1. 

If you have a new dog, the dog must be licensed with the town within 60 days of acquiring the pet.  

2. Stoughton's Got Talent

The Stoughton High Music Department, in collaboration with Parents of Performing Students (POPS), is sponsoring a "Stoughton's Got Talent" talent show on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in the Stoughton High auditorium.

There are 22 acts in two divisions (8th grade and up and 7th grade and under) competing for cash prizes.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors.

3. Stoughton Youth Baseball Opening Day

The 2013 Stoughton Youth Baseball Opening Day parade and ceremony is this Saturday, April 13. Parade starts at 9 a.m. with players walking from Faxon Park to the VFW baseball complex on Elm St. followed by an opening day ceremony at approximately 10 a.m. and first games at 11:30 a.m.

4. Save the Date: Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club Annual Golf Tournament 

The Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club will be holding its annual golf tournament Saturday, June 1 at the Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton. The tournament starts at 8 a.m.

5. Patriots Day Trash Schedule

The following is from the Stoughton DPW:

On Monday, April 15, there will be no curbside trash collection in observance of Patriots' Day. Trash collection for Patriots' Day will be scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th in addition to the regular Tuesday collection. This is standard procedure for any holiday.

All rubbish and recyclables must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day.

Recyclables are to be separated as follows: (1) Commingled containers (glass, plastic, aluminum cans, aluminum foil) and (2) curbside newsprint (newspapers, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, phone books, inserts).

We are now able to pick up tubeless TV's and computer monitors with curbside trash but older TV's and computer monitors with tubes (CRTs) cannot be picked up curbside and must be brought to the transfer station. Large household appliances (metal items) must be called into the Public Works for appointment for pickup.
