1. Board of Selectmen Meeting

The Stoughton Board of Selectmen will meet Tuesday, Apr. 2, starting in executive session and then reconvening in open session.

The open session, held in the Great Hall (third floor of the Town Hall), is expected to start at 7:30 p.m.

Note that the swearing-in ceremony for Lt. Jay McNamara and new firefighter/paramedics Jeremiah Fowler and Justin Goldberg, originally scheduled for this meeting, has been postponed until the April 23, according to Fire Chief Mark Dolloff. 

2. Opening Day for Stoughton High Spring Sports

The Stoughton High baseball, softball and tennis teams all have their opening games/matches Tuesday afternoon, Apr. 2.

  • The varsity baseball team hosts Attleboro at 3:30 p.m.
  • The varsity softball team travels to Attleboro at 3:30 p.m.
  • The boys' tennis team hosts Attleboro at 3:30 p.m.
  • The girls' tennis team travels to Attleboro at 3:30 p.m.
  • JV baseball and JV softball are both at Attleboro; Freshmen baseball and softball are both home. 

The Stoughton High outdoor track teams have their season opener Thursday at home against Sharon.

3. Bingo at the Senior Center

The Senior Center will hold its weekly game of BINGO at 12:45 p.m.

4. Save the Date: Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club Annual Golf Tournament 

The Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club will be holding its annual golf tournament Saturday, June 1 at the Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton. The tournament starts at 8 a.m.

5. Reminder: Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton

Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.

Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
