1. March Madness Event at Stoughton High School
This Thursday, March 14, the Stoughton High Athletics Department and SHS Junior Class (Class of 2014) are co-sponsoring a March Madness event at the SHS gym.

The event, which starts at 3:30 p.m., will feature a student vs. faculty basketball game and a dunk contest.
The preliminary round of the dunk contest will be held at halftime of the student/faculty game, with the finals held after the game. Sources say Stoughton High boys' basketball senior captain Joe Bunce-Grenon and SHS Athletic Director Ryan Donahue are the favorites in the dunk contest.

This is a fundraiser for the SHS Athletics Department and Junior Class, with the proceeds split between the two groups.
Tickets, sold at the door, are $5 for spectators. There is a $1 student participation fee for those taking part in the game or dunk contest.
2. School Committee Meeting
The Stoughton School Committee meets in the TV studio at Stoughton High at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.

The agenda for Thursday's special meeting (also scheduled for 7 p.m. in the SHS TV studio), which will discuss the possible censure of member Dr. Erdem Ural, has also been posted and is available here: Agenda 3-14-13.pdf.
3. Bingo at the Senior Center
The Senior Center will hold its weekly game of BINGO at 12:45 p.m.
4. Stoughton Reads Together
The 2013 Stoughton Reads Together Program officially started March 1. People of the Book, this year's book selection, is a sweeping fictional adventure through five centuries of history, inspired by the true story of a mysterious codex known as the Sarajevo Haggadah.
On Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. there will be "A History and Lesson in Calligraphy" offered by Harvey Levensohn in the Wales French Room. Reservations are required (781-344-2711).

5. Reminder: Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton
Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.
Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
