1. Planned Power Outage
According to the Stoughton Police Department, starting Wednesday, May 15 at 11 p.m. until Thursday, May 16 at 5 a.m., National Grid has a planned power outage in North Stoughton, which will impact parts of the Central St., Warren Ave., Britton Ave., and Washington St. area.

2. Sports Concussion Forum

Pete Brock, an offensive lineman with the New England Patriots from 1976-1987, will be the keynote speaker at an assembly sponsored by The Signature Healthcare Philanthropic Association (SHPA) at the Striar YMCA in Stoughton on May 29, 2013 at 6 p.m. Brock will talk about his experience as a Patriot and the current concern of past and present players with concussive injuries.
Also presenting will be Dr. Ken Lawson, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital and Medical Director of the SportsSmart Program. SportSmart provides education, safety and prevention for athletic trainers, coaches and parents - teaching the signs and symptoms of concussions and helping students perform at their healthiest.
The evening will begin with some light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and greet the President and CEO of Signature Healthcare, Kim Hollon, who will also be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

3. Final Registration for STOYAC Pop Warner Youth Football & Cheerleading
Final registrations for the Fall 2013 STOYAC Pop Warner Youth Football and Cheerleading teams will take place this Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and this Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
Both signup dates will take place at the Stoughton Police Station Community Room.

4. Organizational Town Meeting
Organizational Town Meeting takes place Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. in the O'Donnell Middle School cafeteria. Prior to that there will be a session for new Town Meeting representatives at 7 p.m. in the OMS Media Center.

5. Homeless for a Night
The Stoughton High Student Council is hosting its first ever "Homeless for a Night" event on Friday May 17.
It is an overnight event for high school students to raise awareness about homelessness. Tickets are $5. Wristbands will be sold for $2 and all proceeds will be donated to Father Bill's & MainSpring, a nonprofit organization that fights homelessness in the South Shore area.
The Student Council is also collecting donations of canned goods, blankets and kitchen appliances for the Evelyn House, a homeless shelter in Stoughton funded by Father Bill's and Mainspring.
The Student Council is accepting donations from the public. They can be dropped off at the main high school office this week.
