1. Stoughton Police Promote Holmes to Sergeant
The Stoughton Police Department announced earlier this week that Officer Brian Holmes has been promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Sgt. Holmes has been with the SPD since 1999 and will remain a K9 officer, with his police dog Annie by his side. Officer John Lydstone is the department's other K9 officer, with Cak as his four-legged partner.
There will be a swearing-in ceremony for Sgt. Holmes later this month, according to the SPD.

2. Organizational Town Meeting
Organizational Town Meeting takes place Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. in the O'Donnell Middle School cafeteria. Prior to that there will be a session for new Town Meeting representatives at 7 p.m. in the OMS Media Center.

3.OMS 8th Grade Spring Concert
The following is from the Stoughton Schools Fine Arts Department:
The OMS Music Department will present its 8th Grade Spring Concert on Thursday, May 16 at Stoughton High School. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will feature the 8th Grade Chorus directed by Ms. Bauman. The 8th Grade Concert Band will be conducted by Mr. Kearns.
Tickets are available at the door - $2 for adults, $1 for children and seniors, with a family maximum of $5.
The OMS 6th grade concert is May 21 and the OMS 7th grade concert is May 23.
4. SMAC Open House
SMAC (Stoughton Media Access Corporation) is having an open house at its Stoughton studios (421 Page St. Suite 2) this Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The open house, free of charge, will be fun for the whole family.
There will be a magician on site doing tricks; professional caricatures being drawn; karaoke; free blood pressure screenings; the chance to converse with a nurse; refreshments; and tours of the studio.
There will be a chance to talk with current producers and on air talent about their experiences and a the opportunity to become a member of SMAC and learn how to produce your own TV show.
5. Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton
Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.
Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
