1. Sports Concussion Forum
The following is from a press release:
Pete Brock, an offensive lineman with the New England Patriots from 1976-1987, will be the keynote speaker at an assembly sponsored by The Signature Healthcare Philanthropic Association (SHPA) at the Striar YMCA in Stoughton on May 29, 2013 at 6 p.m. Brock will talk about his experience as a Patriot and the current concern of past and present players with concussive injuries.

Also presenting will be Dr. Ken Lawson, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital and Medical Director of the SportsSmart Program. SportSmart provides education, safety and prevention for athletic trainers, coaches and parents - teaching the signs and symptoms of concussions and helping students perform at their healthiest.
The evening will begin with some light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and greet the President and CEO of Signature Healthcare, Kim Hollon, who will also be the Master of Ceremoniesfor the evening.

2. Save the Date: Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club Annual Golf Tournament
The Stoughton High Football Gridiron Club will be holding its annual golf tournament Saturday, June 1 at the Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton. The tournament starts at 8 a.m.

If you can't play, there are still ways to support the tournament. The Gridiron Club is looking for hole sponsors. You can also attend the luncheon which will follow the tournament.
Former SHS football head coach Jerry Cullen (71-76), also a longtime teacher at SHS, will be receiving the SHS Gridiron Hall of Fame Coach Award. Some of Coach Cullen's former players will be speaking about Coach Cullen at the Golf Tournament.

3. Reflagging of Veterans Graves
On Saturday, May 25th, the town's Veterans Department will be reflagging the graves of all veterans at the Holy Sepulcher and Evergreen Cemeteries in Stoughton, but are looking for some help.
"This is truly a great thing for your children and grandchildren to participate in," Veterans Agent Mike Pazyra wrote.
Volunteers will be meeting at 10 a.m. at VFW Post 1645 at 837 Washington Street. Refreshments will be served at the VFW upon the completion of the reflagging.
4. Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton
Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.
Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
