Body Found in Mattapoisett Identified as Missing 1991 Stoughton High Graduate
The body of Scott J. Kilroe, 40, of Wareham, formerly of Stoughton, was found Saturday in Mattapoisett, according to the state medical examiner's office. Kilroe had been missing since February.

A body found washed ashore by a couple taking a walk on a Mattapoisett beach last Saturday afternoon has been identified as Scott J. Kilroe, 40, of Wareham, formerly of Stoughton, SouthCoastToday.com reports.
The state medical examiner's office confirmed the identification Wednesday, according to SouthCoastToday.
Kilroe, raised in Stoughton, and a 1991 graduate of Stoughton High School, lived in Wareham for the past two years, according to his obituary

Kilroe was last seen Feb. 12 at approximately 5 p.m. A family member filed a missing person report with the Wareham Police Department on Feb. 15, according to a Wareham PD press release.
"Wareham Police Department investigators have searched the area and made extensive inquiries into the whereabouts of Scott Kilroe with negative results," a Wareham PD press release states. The search for Kilroe extended to both land and water.

When the body was found April 13, police told SouthCoastToday the body appeared to be in the water for "several weeks."
Kilroe was an elevator constructor with the Local 4 IUEC for 15 years. He also was a self-employed mason, and in his free time enjoyed his stone work, according to his obituary.
The son of James V. Kilroe of Wareham and the late Patricia M. (Henry) Kilroe, he is survived by his daughter, Taylor G. Kilroe; his siblings, James F. Kilroe, Thomas M. Kilroe, and Diane M. Kilroe; and his former wife, Christina M. (Agostino) Kilroe.
A funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton on Friday, April 19 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church in Stoughton at 10 a.m. Visiting Hours will take place Thursday, April 18 from 4-8 p.m.
Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
