Brockton Man Charged In Canton Break-In Arrested In Stoughton

Deronde Bethea, 26​, faces allegations that he stole $2,000 and a small safe from a Canton home.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Brockton man charged in a Canton break-in was apprehended in Stoughton Friday night.

Deronde Bethea, 26, faces allegations that he stole $2,000 and a small safe from a Canton home while armed with a gun. He was ordered held on $500,000 cash bail, according to the Boston Globe.

Police responded to the reported break-in on Rockland Street in Canton at about 11:30 p.m. At the scene, officers saw three men running from the house and towards a Ford pickup truck.

Police followed the truck and a short time later, Betha, allegedly left the vehicle on Mill Street in Stoughton and tossed a weapon which was later recovered.

Bethea was taken to custody following a foot chase. Police say they have the identities of the other two suspects.
