Gallery: Stoughton Police, Fire Team up for Charity Hockey Game

Typically, when the Stoughton Police and Fire Departments trade in their guns and hoses for hockey skates they are on opposing teams, but this past Saturday, the SPD and SFD joined forces at the Metropolis (Ponkapoag) Ice Rink in Canton for the Fifth Annual Charity Hockey Benefit.
Members of the Stoughton Police and Fire Departments played on a split-squad team against the Randolph Police and Fire Departments. That game was followed by the Canton Police and Fire Departments taking on the Boston Police.
Randolph and Boston both skated to victory.

All proceeds from this year's event went to the family of Canton Police Officer Rafael Centeno, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer.
The event was sponsored by 1-800-BoardUp, which helps people after their property has been damaged by a fire, a storm, or another disaster. Retired Stoughton Fire Chief Dave Jardin, the Director of Emergency Services for 1-800-BoardUp, was on hand Saturday night.

The National Anthem was performed by Mallory Breen, daughter of Stoughton Firefighter Scott Breen.
Members of the Stoughton Police and Fire squad included: Danny Bates, Jim Bertram, John Bonney, Jim Campbell, Billy Carreiro, John DeAndrade, Roger Hardy, Erik Feist, John Lydstone, Dan Muse, Buddy O'Neil, Greg Osbourne, Mike Peck and Joe Visser.
Canton firefighter Jon Buckley, who helps to organize the charitable event, also suited up with the Stoughton squad.
Saturday's game was a warmup of sorts for the Stoughton Police and Fire Departments in advance of the yearly Guns 'N Hoses hockey game.
The 7th Annual Guns 'N Hoses matchup, which features the SPD and SFD going head to head, will be played Saturday, March 30 at the Canton Sportsplex. More details will follow leading up to the event.
The Guns 'N Hoses game benefits F.O.S.H., Friends of Stoughton Hockey, which helps support the youth hockey players in town.
