GoFundMe For Families Of Teens Killed In Crash Surpasses $55,000

That money raised is starting to make its way to the families of Chris Desir, Eryck Sarblah, Nick Joyce, and David Bell.

STOUGHTON, MA — The families of the four Stoughton High School students killed in a crash in East Bridgewater are starting to receive the contributions from a large effort to support them financially.

Christopher Monteiro, the person behind the GoFundMe campaign "Support Stoughton Families!" wrote on the Stoughton News Facebook group that the first checks have been delivered to the families and he expected to meet with the families by the end of Tuesday to "complete this process and get ready for the next round of support as donations continue to come in."

"I want to thank all of you for your help and kindness. I wish there was a way to express just how grateful these families are. I have shared tears and moments with them in private but would like to share with all you their thanks of the love and support this community has shown them, it's amazing how we come together in moments when it is needed most. Everyone who has been involved in this healing process should know that your efforts are beyond heartwarming and gracious!" Monteiro wrote.

The campaign has raised over $55,000 with an original goal of $40,000 and a current goal of $60,000. The funds raised will go towards the families of Chris Desir, Eryck Sarblah, Nick Joyce, and David Bell to help offset funeral costs. Anything beyond funeral costs will go to assist these families and the community for a memorial or scholarship fund, according to Monteiro.
