The unemployment rate went down in Stoughton in November 2012, according to data recently released by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.

The unemployment rate in Stoughton was 5.7 percent in November 2012, down from 5.9 percent in October 2012 and down from 6.2 percent in November of 2011.

Stoughton has a labor force of 15,290, according to the Office of Labor and Workforce Development and in November of 2012, 14,412 were employed and 878 were unemployed.

While Stoughton has a lower unemployment rate than the state, it followed a similar unemployment pattern. The unemployment rate in Massachusetts was 6.1 percent in November 2012, down from 6.2 percent in October 2012 and down from 6.4 percent in November 2011.

The Norfolk County unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in November 2012.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in November 2012.
