Stoughton-based Maltby & Company Natural Tree & Lawn Care is set to observe Arbor Day with a “beautification project” at Faxon Veterans Memorial Park in Stoughton on Friday, Oct. 10.
“Faxon Park is not just a valuable gathering spot for the town of Stoughton; it is also a special place for the Maltby Family,” the company said in a statement. “The Maltby Family Homestead was located on Walnut Street, along the park, for more than four generations. There is even a part of the Maltby family who still resides on Walnut STreet but just a few houses down from the original home.”

“Choosing this site for Arbor Day is not just about rejuvenating a community park, or a sentimental place for the Maltby family, but it also provides a unique opportunity to honor local service men and women as Veteran’s Day approaches.
Arbor Day is a long-standing tradition for the Maltby Family. Tree care is a way of life for their third generation, Stoughton-based Company who has been in the industry since 1949. While maintaining the integrity of trees and green spaces is an important pillar in their business, it is also a labor of love for a family who has been long rooted in the Stoughton community.
Arbor Day has been a national tradition since 1872 and the Maltby family hopes their contribution will inspire the community to not only care for their own trees, but to be vigilant in maintaining important community spaces.”
