The Stoughton Recreation Department celebrated Bay State Bike Week with a "Tykes and Bikes Parade" at Halloran Park on Thursday, May 16.

The Stoughton Recreation Department celebrated Bay State Bike Week with a "Tykes and Bikes Parade" at Halloran Park on Thursday, May 16. 

Children decorated their bikes and participated in a parade around Halloran Park.

Christine Howe, the seasonal Recreation Office Assistant and triathlete, led the parade. 

Kyle Mowatt, from Old Colony Planning Council, provided each participant with a Bay State Bike Week t-shirt, bike bell, ankle reflector, and water bottle.

Recreation Director John Denison gave an overview of bike safety rules and parents received an informational packet on bike safety. 

Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force members Teresa Tapper and Jim Conlon and Recreation Department Program Facilitator Laurice Rubel assisted in the event.
