The Stoughton Public School District has been awarded a $14,760 Literacy Partnership grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, State Sen. Brian A. Joyce (D-Milton) announced Monday.
“The latest award continues to demonstrate Stoughton’s commitment to education and literacy as a means of improving the quality of life for the next generation of residents,” Joyce said in a statement.
The grant is meant to support the use of Pre-K to Grade-6 model curriculum units in both literacy and humanities, “as well as aligning curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development with the 2011 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for English Language Arts and Literacy,” according to the announcement.
