Stoughton Crash: Victims Identified As Engaged Couple
Tuesday night's crash took the lives of two people who were to be married.

STOUGHTON, MA — Tuesday night's fatal crash on Plain Street took the lives of an engaged couple, according to reports. Angela Goodrich, 38, of Stoughton and Michael E. Luddington, 48, of Kingston died after their vehicle crashed into a tree on the road, according to Stoughton Police.
Each of the victims' Facebook pages refers to being engaged to the other. Luddington's cover photo shows the two together.
"Last night's car crash on Plain St. was a tragedy in which two people lost their lives. This was a real life event in which two people who had a lot of life yet to live will not be around to enjoy beautiful sunny days like today, birthday parties with their family, or anything else we all take for granted," Stoughton Police said on social media.

News outlets reported witnesses saying the crash scene was "horrific." The vehicle was mangled in several photos posted online.

Police and firefighters responded to a report of a crash at 5:15 p.m. At the scene, they found a black truck with heavy damage that appeared to go into a tree.

Luddington was the driver, police said.
Police have released few details about the crash, but Stoughton Police Chief called the crash Tuesday night, "a serious tragedy and a serious crash scene."
The crash remains under police investigation.
