Stoughton to Hold Hazardous Waste Collection Event This Weekend

Find out what items will and will not be accepted.

Stoughton residents who have excess hazardous materials in their homes will have the chance to dispose of them properly this weekend.

The town will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the O’Donnell Middle School parking lot, 211 Cushing St. in Stoughton.

Those who attend must enter the area via the Stoughton High School parking lot on Pearl Street and proceed to the rear access road to the election. Residents must remain in their vehicles.

Needle & Sharp Disposal
Such items should not be placed in household trash bags or barrels. Sharps and needles should be placed in a puncture-resistant container.

Mercury Waste
Thermometers, fluorescent lamps, blood pressure cuffs, barometers or other items containing elemental mercury

Waste crankcase oil can be returned to the point of purchase under law.

Prescription drugs will be accepted by the Organization Against Substance Abuse in Stoughton.
