Stoughton HS Project Remains On Track

All signs point to the next school year being the last one in the current building.

STOUGHTON, MA — The new Stoughton High School project is within budget and remains on scheduled to open in time for the 2019-20 school year, according to project officials.

TJ Recupero of the Stoughton School Building Committee and owner's project manager Dom Tiberi updated Town Meeeting this week on the progress of the building. Tiberi said the steel erection is just about completed and the last beam will be raised May 11. An event to celebrate the raising has been scheduled for 11 a.m.

Workers are also now prepping for slab work along with installing underground utilities.

As of last month, 60,000 hours of work has going into the building with no injuries.

In May and June, slab work will continue, as will fireproofing.

The project, which has a price tag of about $123.5 million, remains within the budget with a comfortable contingency and some savings in construction, according to Tiberi.

As it stands, construction is on track to be completed by September 2019.
