Adelino Abreau
Adelino Abreu, a resident of Stoughton for over 40 years, died peacefully Sunday April 21, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 66 years old.
Born in Madeira Island, Portugal in 1946, he moved to Stoughton in 1970.

Adelino worked as a machinist for the F.C. Philips Company in Stoughton for many years and was an active parishioner Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. He was a member of the Portuguese Club, the Holy Ghost Society-Azores, and Our Lady of Fatima, all in Stoughton.

Angela (Gosar) Bakas
Angela Jenny (Gosar) Bakas, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Friday, April 19 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Following graduation she embarked on a 40-year teaching career. Her first three jobs were in Rawlins, WY; then in Ouray, CO and in Englewood, CO. She spent the next several years teaching for the U.S. Air Force Dependent Schools in Japan, Germany, Spain and Turkey.
Upon her return to the U.S., she taught in Torrington, CT, Brookline, and Stoughton. Angela cherished the years she spent working with children and with her colleagues and friends.

David P. Bento
David P. Bento, 65, of Stoughton, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Kindred Hospital in Stoughton after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Maria Fatima (Pimentel) Bento.
He worked as a welder for General Dynamics in Quincy for several years and then for Suburban Cleaners in Norwood. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his garage listening to the Portuguese Radio Stations, working in his yard, soccer and music.

Helen (Silverman) Bloom, of Stoughton, passed away April 1. She was the beloved wife of the late Fallon Bloom.

Kathleen (Grady) Carolan
Kathleen G. (Grady) Carolan, 104, died peacefully at the Copley at Stoughton on Saturday, April 27. She was the wife of the late Vincent H. Carolan.
Born in 1909, She turned 104 on April 11. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1949.
Mrs. Carolan was the first permanent lay teacher at St. John's School in Canton. She taught at St. John's for 20 years before retiring 34 years ago. She was a member of the Stoughton Women's Club and Trinity Alumni Association.

Alban C. Castro
Alban C. Castro, 52, died unexpectedly April 20, 2013. He was born, raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School.
His love of the sea moved him to become a Merchant Marine which allowed him to visit many city ports throughout the world. In later years, he went back to school and attained a certificate in culinary arts. He enjoyed music, cooking, gardening and sports.

Edward P. Cullen, Jr., 43, of Stoughton, died Friday, April 5, at the Champion Rehabilitation Center in Brockton after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was the beloved son of Shirley A. (Nota) Cullen Conefrey and the late Edward P. Cullen.
Born in Bitburg, Germany, he was raised and educated in Brockton. He loved music and writing poetry.

James E. Flint
James Edward Flint, 46, of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly at his sister’s home Monday April 8, 2013. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
While serving in the US Army he was stationed in Hawaii. For many years he worked as a painter and sheet rocker. Jimmy loved spending time with family, going to bingo and lottery tickets.

Ernesto Garcia
Ernesto V. Garcia, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Baypointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Monday, April 8. He was the husband of 61 years of Alvina L. (Lucio) Garcia.
Born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he moved to Stoughton in 1981. Garcia worked at Qual-Craft in Stoughton for seven years before retiring in 1988. He also worked at Albert's Restaurant in Stoughton for several years.

Kathleen (Hayward) Jefferson
Kathleen A. (Hayward) Jefferson, 64, of Stoughton, died Saturday, April 6, at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Home after a period of failing health.
Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She also was a graduate of Nursing School. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley for over 15 years, retiring in 2005.
Several years ago, she was a Girl Scout Leader and a ceramics instructor. In her free time, she enjoyed painting.

Scott J. Kilroe
The body of Scott J. Kilroe, 40, of Wareham, formerly of Stoughton, was found April 13 in Mattapoisett, according to the state medical examiner's office. Kilroe had been missing since February.
Raised in Stoughton, Kilroe was a 1991 graduate of Stoughton High School. He was an elevator constructor with the Local 4 IUEC for 15 years. He also was a self-employed mason and in his free time he enjoyed his stone work.

Marilyn (Wiegand) King
Marilyn E. (Wiegand) King, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Brockton Hospital on Thursday, April 11. She was the wife of Patrick B. "Bernie" King.
Mrs. King was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. She was a homemaker. In her free time she loved to travel with her family.

Dale F. LaVelle
Dale F. LaVelle, 80, a longtime resident of Brockton, and former longtime teacher at Stoughton High School, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, April 27.
He was the husband of 50 years of Joan F. (Murray) LaVelle.
Mr. LaVelle was a teacher, Director of Foreign Languages and Principal (for a brief period in the early 1980s) during his tenure at Stoughton High School, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1993. He was also the Stoughton High School golf coach for many years.

Daniel Joseph "Joe" Lehan, Sr., 97, died Wednesday, April 10, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, after a brief illness. He was the husband of 67 years of the late Helene T. (Madden) Lehan.
Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a longtime resident of Stoughton and Green Harbor, Marshfield. For several years, he enjoyed wintering in Florida. He was a retired shipfitter for General Dynamics in Quincy. He was one of the first members of the Stoughton Knights of Columbus.

Maria (Tavares) Medeiros
Maria J. (Tavares) Medeiros, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Brockton Hospital on Sunday, April 14.
Born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she moved to Stoughton in 1968. Mrs. Medeiros worked at Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton for 23 years and Spoontigues for 17 years before retiring at age 70.

Mary I. "Marie" (Saia) Mosher
Mary I. "Marie" (Saia) Mosher, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, April 23. She was the devoted wife of 44 years of Andrew C. Mosher.
She was a resident of Stoughton for 42 years after living in Avon for several years.
Mrs. Mosher was a bookkeeper at Liberty Mutual for several years and a part-time librarian at the Gibbons Elementary School in Stoughton for 18 years before retiring 20 years ago. She loved cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.

Reta Jane (Lantz) Nickerson
Reta Jane (Lantz) Nickerson, 85, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at her home in Stoughton with her family at her bedside.
Affectionately known as Bunnie, she was the beloved wife of the late Albert Nickerson. They moved to Stoughton in 1955, and were active in forming the West Stoughton Civic Assoc. & First Congregationalist Church. She was active in Scouts, PTA and was a member of the Rising Star Lodge.
A renowned seamstress, she operated Nickerson Drapery until retirement, and still kept her hands in, knitting 177 pair of mittens with her daughter Jane for the First Congregationalist Church Fair last year.

Luisa Jacinta Pacheco, a housewife and resident of Stoughton since 1970, passed away on Monday April 1, 2013 at The Copley At Stoughton Nursing Facility.
She was 95 years old and the beloved wife of of over 65 years to the late Carmindo Pacheco.

Judite Fatima (Paulino) Ramos, 68, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, April 27 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.
She was the loving wife of Carmelino F. Ramos for over 50 years. She was born in Azores, Portugal and lived in Stoughton for almost 40 years.

Arthur F. Silva, Jr., 58, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, April 15 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton schools. Mr.Silva worked for the Local 4 Union of Operating Engineers for 15 years before owning A & T Taxi in Stoughton for several years.

Bertha Pearl (Nogler) White
Bertha Pearl (Nogler) White, 85, a of Stoughton, died at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain on Saturday, April 13. She was the wife of the late Robert J. White.
Mrs. White was a resident of Stoughton for two years after living in Sharon for over 10 years. She was a homemaker.
