Stoughton Police Halt School Dismissal After Suspicious Packages Found on Adams Street
The packages were deemed to not be dangerous to the schools or students.

The discovery of “several suspicious packages” on Adams Street in Stoughton led police to ask for a halt in dismissal of several students Friday afternoon.
The packages were not considered dangerous to students of the schools, but police asked the schools in the area to hold students until the scene had been cleared as a precautionary measure.
The Stoughton Police Department released the following statement around 3 p.m. Friday:

“Stoughton Police and State Police Bomb Squad are investigating several suspicious packages on Adams St. in proximity to SHS. Both schools have been asked to hold dismissal until we have cleared them all. The inspected packages have not been dangerous to the schools or students. We wish to inspect them all with care and caution and ask for your patience. Thank you.”
Shortly thereafter, police added that all packages had been cleared and dismissal was expected to commence per usual.
