Stoughton Police Make Arrests for Cocaine Possession, Drunk Driving, Hit and Run

Cocaine Possession
Stoughton Police made a cocaine-related arrest following a traffic stop at the intersection of Park St. and Walnut St. at 6:27 p.m. on July 24.
Nelson Jose Catala-Otero, 32, of Brockton, was charged with trafficking cocaine and the failure to stop/yield.

Drunk Driving
Stoughton Police arrested a woman for allegedly driving drunk following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Washington St. and Central St. at 2:07 a.m. on July 21.
Maria G. Goncalves, 32, of Cross St. in Stoughton, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and for the negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Drunk Driving
A caller informed police at 8:27 p.m. on July 23 that a vehicle hit a parked car on Rayburn Rd.
Police responded and Edward Donald Barton, Jr., 25, of Faxon Rd. in Stoughton was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and for a marked lanes violation.

Hit and Run
An employee from Target in Stoughton called police at 12:58 p.m. on July 21 to report that a black Ford SUV struck a navy blue Toyota Rav4 in the parking garage and left.
Police located the vehicle nearby, on Page Terrace.
Francisca J. Marfori, 33, of Page Terrace in Stoughton, was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, and operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger.
Marfori also had an outstanding warrant.

Shoplifting
An employee from Rite Aid on Washington St. (Shaw's Plaza) reported a case of shoplifting at 8:08 p.m. on July 20.
Lindsey Marie Taylor, 28, of Park St. in Stoughton, was charged with shoplifting by asportation and for shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.

Driver Charged with Killing Pregnant Stoughton Pedestrian
The Sharon driver charged with motor vehicle homicide after her car struck and killed a pregnant Stoughton woman July 21 around 8:45 p.m. on Lincoln Street in Stoughton, plead not guilty to the charges in Stoughton District Court.
Karen Blau, 46, of Sharon, is also accused of having alcohol and drugs in her system at the time of the fatal crash.
The victim, Joanne White, 35, was walking with her son and was struck near the intersection of Grove Street as Blau was backing out of a driveway in her vehicle.
