Stoughton Police Officer Sullivan to be Honored at Rox Game

Stoughton Police Department's Officer Jen Sullivan to be Recognized at Brockton Rox Game

According to the Stoughton Police Department's Facebook page, the Stoughton Police will be recognizing Officer Jen Sullivan at Tuesday's Brockton Rox game, as part of the Brockton Rox's celebration of the annual National Night Out Against Crime.

The festivities will be held Tuesday, August 6 at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, home of the Rox. The game against the Raging Tide starts at 7:05 p.m.

Activities (including a motorcade of police, fire and military, a petting zoo, pie eating contest, wing eating contest, face painting, a K9 demonstration, and more) go from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Campanelli Stadium is located on 1 Feinberg Way in Brockton.

Stoughton Board of Selectmen Meeting

The Stoughton Board of Selectmen meet Tuesday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to start in executive session, then reconvene in open session in the Great Hall on the third floor of the Stoughton Town Hall.

Malcolm & Parsons Food Pantry Drive

Drop off any canned goods or non-perishable items at Malcolm & Parsons Insurance Agency's downtown Stoughton office (770 Washington St.) during the months of July and August and Malcolm & Parsons will match the donation.

All proceeds and donations will be distributed to the two local food pantries in Stoughton.

"These are the months when the food pantries are in need the most," Jack Raeke of Malcolm & Parsons wrote in an email.  "We have a kiddie Pool set up in our office and hope to fill it with can goods and non perishables. As we did last year Malcolm and Parsons has agreed to match the value of all the donations! THE POOL HAS A LOT MORE ROOM."

Middle School Hockey Tryouts

The Stoughton Middle School Hockey Program will be held August 19 and August 26 from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m. at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton. The tryouts are funded by the Friends of Stoughton Hockey (FOSH) and are free to all participants.

The Stoughton middle school program plays a full season of hockey in the Junior High League at the Foxboro Sports Center from September through April.
