Stoughton Runners Set to Take Part in 2013 Boston Marathon This Monday

Twelve Stoughton residents qualified for the 117th Boston Marathon, which is set to take place Monday, April 15, 2013.

Eight men and four women from Stoughton, ranging in age from 25 to 61, have qualified for the 117th running of the Boston Marathon and will be making the 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston on Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 15, 2013.

It's the world's oldest annual marathon. Here is a list of Stoughton's 12 scheduled participants, according to the Boston Athletic Association website:

  • Lisa Andrews, age 44
  • Christy Ciccariello, age 28
  • William Coulter, age 61
  • Nicole Floro, age 25
  • Michael Griffiths, age 34
  • Nicole Jacobs, age 35
  • Joseph Rossi, age 33
  • Jamal Stephens, age 33
  • Barry Sussman, age 47
  • Greg Swartz, age 51
  • Stuart Weiner, age 44
  • James White, age 32

In addition to the field of Stoughton residents taking part this year, Bobby O'Donnell, 19, of Easton, the son of Stoughton Fire Captain Bob O'Donnell, will also be running. Jeff Russell, 60, of West Bridgewater, a 1971 Stoughton High grad and member of the SHS Athletic Hall of Fame, and current Chief Operating Officer of the Old Colony YMCA, is also running.
