Reported Intruder Turns Out To Be Toy
The following was provided by the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police log:
Saturday, April 7
- At 12:18 a.m., a resident reported drag racing on Littles Point Road.
- At 7:43 a.m., water coming out of the ground was reported on Roy Street. DPW was notified.
- At 3:18 p.m., a resident on Humphrey Street reported youths trying to start a fire using dry brush. The Fire Department checked the area but no fire had been started and the youths could not be located.
- At 3:40 p.m., a resident of Pierro Terrace reported a neighbor was burning leaves. The Fire Department advised the resident.
- At 6:09 p.m., a domestic incident was reported on Paradise Road.
- At 11:06 p.m., bark mulch was smoldering on a traffic island on Paradise Road. The Fire Department responded.

- At 12:54 a.m., youths were sent on their way after police found them in the gazebo.
- At 3:07 a.m., a resident of Bradlee Avenue reported someone may be in their home. Police responded and found a toy malfunctioning.
- At 7:27 a.m. smoldering mulch was reported on a traffic island on Paradise Road.
- Around 10:30 a.m., multiple people called about a sick raccoon on Huron Street.
Monday, April 9
- A seal was reported on the beach at 6:54 a.m.
- At 1:15 p.m., police responded to an accident with injury on Atlantic Avenue.
- At 7:12 p.m., a possible fight stemming from road rage was reported on Essex Street. The people were gone when police arrived.
- At 11:19 p.m., police checked the wooded areas near Salem Street for brush fire.
Tuesday, April 10

- At 2:32 p.m., police responded to a neighbor dispute on Elmwood Terrace.
The following people were arrested:
- Jon Edwards Sverker, 57, 129 Brookline Ave., was charged with domestic assault and battery.
- David Newell Townsend, 53, 17 Lawrence Rd., was charged with driving after license suspension.
