Temple Emanuel of Andover’s Social Action Committee will present the next program in its Community Speaker Series, “Lazarus House Ministries – Supporting the Community with Dignity and Compassion,” on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event will take place at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road in Andover, and will be offered both in person and via Zoom. The program will feature leaders from Lazarus House Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Lawrence dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity. Through a comprehensive network of programs—including emergency shelter, transitional housing, food distribution, community resource services, education, and advocacy—Lazarus House works to uplift the most vulnerable members of the local community with dignity, respect, and compassion. The program will include remarks by Carmen Vega, Executive Director, Lazarus House Ministries and Nancy Gottesman, Major Gifts Officer and member of the development team, as well as a video presentation highlighting the many ways Lazarus House Ministries serves those in need.

“We are honored to welcome Lazarus House to Temple Emanuel and hear directly from their leadership about the organization’s mission, the scope of its programs, and the ongoing need for food, housing, and resource support in Greater Lawrence,” said Kathe Tuttman and Susie Novick, co-chairs of the Social Action Committee Speaker Series. “Their work represents a powerful example of neighbors helping neighbors. This event is an opportunity for our community to learn more about the challenges facing families in Lawrence and to explore meaningful ways to offer support.”
