20 Walpole Residents to Run in 117th Boston Marathon
Walpole will be well represented in the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15 as 20 residents are expected to participate in the race.

Twenty Walpole residents are expected to be among the thousands of runners participating in the 117th Boston Marathon on April 15. They are:

Those residents are expected to embark on the 26.22-mile run that begins in Hopkinton and finishes at Copley Square in Boston. According to the Boston Marathon's website, the race was moved from Ashland to Hopkinton in 1924 and in 1927 the course was lengthened to the full distance of 26 miles, 385 yards to meet Olympic standards. Last year, 20 residents ran the Boston Marathon.
