Monday calls for patchy fog before 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Monday evening look for patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 59. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

2. Labor Day

Happy Labor Day! Labor day is a federal holiday observed to honor the achievements of American workers.

3. 39th Walpole Labor Day Road Race Today

The 39th Annual Walpole Road Race will take place Labor Day, Sept. 3. It is one of the oldest road races in the area and features a 10K and 5K race. Over 600 participants are expected along with volunteers and spectators.

The 5K race begins promptly at 10 a.m., followed immediately by the 10K Race. Tables will open for registration at 8:30 a.m.

Proceeds to benefit the Walpole High School Boys & Girls Cross Country, Winter Track and Spring Track Teams

4. Town Hall Closed Monday

The will be closed today in observance of Labor Day.

5. Labor Day Storytime at Barnes and Noble

At 10:30 a.m. today, Barnes and Noble at the Walpole Mall will be celebrating Labor Day by reading stories about the different jobs that people do. Included is a book about being a fireman, Going to the Firehouse by Mercer Mayer among others.
