Armed Bank Robbery at Sharon Credit Union
Bank was robbed just as the Coakley Middle School students were to be released around 2 Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.

Sharon Credit Union branch on Union Street in East Walpole was robbed just as the Coakley Middle School students were to be released around 2 Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
The suspect can only be described as average height and a slim build. He was dressed in a dark colored pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt, and dark mask. The suspect also displayed a small semi-automatic handgun. He placed an undisclosed amount of money into a white plastic bag before fleeing down Union Street to Chestnet Street, according to Walpole Police.
“We knew the suspect had a handgun however we do not know if the suspect fled on foot or by car. It was determined to put the school in a brief lock down until several Police units and School officials were in place to assure the students safety outside the school. Bus students were released and now walkers have just been released. Students will be delayed arriving home this afternoon,” according to Norwood Police on Facebook.
