Hydrant Flushing Begins in Walpole Tuesday; Water Discoloration Possible
The Walpole Water Department will begin flushing hydrants in town on Tuesday, April 23 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on the area.

The annual hydrant flushing and testing program will commence on Wednesday, April 23 and will continue over the next several weeks throughout the town.
The hours of operation will be 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. through 2 p.m., depending on the particular area.

It is expected that some discoloration and disturbance of the water in the area of work will occur while the program is in progress and consumers should check the clarity of their water prior to use. In the event that rust or sediment is present, wait approximately two hours for any disturbance that was caused by the flushing to settle and run the cold water faucet nearest the water meter until clear.
NOTE: Do not run the hot water until the cold water is clear.
