REMINDER: Walk to End Alzheimer’s Saturday in Walpole

There are no fees or fundraising minimums for this event. Walkers who raise $150 will earn a Walk to End Alzheimer's t-shirt.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s hosted by the Alzheimer's Association will be Saturday, Sept. 22. Registration is 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

The 3.5 mile walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The event is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 11 locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The walk begins at Bird Middle School, 625 Washington St., travels down Washington St. to Bird Park, and then through a residential neighborhood.

There is also an option to walk around a 500-foot cul-de-sac at the school within the main event area.

American Idol semifinalist Ayla Brown will perform before the walk begins. Browns parents, Senator Scott Brown and wife, Gail Huff, former WCVB Channel 5 news reporter, are serving as honorary chairs.
