Masked man told clerk he would inject him with AIDS if the clerk did not give him cash.

Police are looking for a suspect who they said threatened a clerk with HIV in a failed robbery attempt on Sunday afternoon at East Walpole Package Store, 79 Providence Highway, (Route 1.)

According to police, the suspect entered the store displaying a blunt object and saying he would inject AIDS, according to Police Chief John Carmichael, if the clerk did not give him cash.

“The clerk pulled out a baseball bat from behind the counter,” Chief Carmichael said, causing the suspect to run out of the store.

A witness was walking into the store as the suspect was leaving.

The suspect got away in sedan that had been parked nearby..
