“I’m proud to accept the endorsements of these professionals,” said Rogers, who cited John Adams, the architect of the Massachusetts Constitution.
“Adams wrote in the Preamble that ‘the end of the institution of government is to secure the existence of the body politic, to protect it, and furnish the individuals who compose it with the power of enjoying in safety their natural rights and the blessings of life,’” Rogers cited from memory.
“We know that the one of the primary purposes of government is to protect its people and secure their liberties and I thank the police, state and local, for their perpetual vigilance and service to my constituents for so honorably helping to secure for the people the blessings of life,” Rogers said.
The general election is Tuesday, November 6.
