Walpole Middle School Principal Confirms 2 Teachers Running Marathon are Safe

Eleanor N. Johnson Middle School teachers Tiffany Radaz and Amanda Cronin are safe and accounted for following Monday's tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

Eleanor N. Johnson Middle School principal Sandra Esmond has confirmed teachers Tiffany Radaz and Amanda Cronin are safe and accounted for after running in the 117th Boston Marathon Monday, which ended in tragedy after two bombs exploded near the finish line on Boylston Street.

Esmond issued the following statement to Walpole families and students regarding the status of Cronin and Radaz:

“Last Friday we sent our good wishes to Tiffany Radaz and Mandy Cronin as they prepared for the marathon,” Esmond said. “We could never have imagined that a tragedy could have happened at a wonderful event. I am happy to report that both Mandy and Tiffany are fine and were able to leave the marathon area safely.”

Esmond added she hopes the Walpole teachers can take the week to recover emotionally and physically from the tragedy.
