
Rita M. DeMoss, a 45 year resident of Berkeley, CA, formerly of Scituate, MA, died on August 24, 2012, at the age of 92 in California.
Rita was born on Oct. 12, 1919 in Walpole, MA, one of five children of the late Patrick and Eileen (Walsh) Halloran. She was a graduate of Randolph High School in Randolph, Ma. After high school she was active in the war effort (WWII), both as an employee in defense plants in Maryland and Kentucky as well as in the Charlestown Navy Yard in Massachusetts.
Rita is survived by her loving children, David DeMoss and his wife Kathryn of Westport, MA, Anitra DeMoss of McAllen, TX and Aine DeMoss and her husband Dat Lock of Oakland, CA. Rita is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as the daughter and grandchildren of Davids wife, Kathryn.

Rita was a long time member of the Berkeley Lawn Bowling Club. She was a regular attendee of the Berkeley Senior Center where she indulged her pastimes of viewing film classics and discussing literature. She was a devotee of jazz and enjoyed traveling. She loved flowers and attended faithfully her many plants growing on her balcony. Above all she loved people. She always reached out to those around her, whether they were neighbors, new friends or loved ones.
Friends and Family are invited to a gathering for a celebration of Ritas life on Thursday, October 18th at 2 p.m. at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA. 02066.
