Walpole Obituary: Robert E. Golding Jr.
Mr. Golding graduated from Walpole High School in 1965.

Mr. Robert 'Bob' Golding, Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after health complications on September 8, 2012. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 10, 1947, Bob was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1965.
He later graduated from Bridgeton Academy and Syracuse University. Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Penny (Scott), for 44 years and they recently renewed their wedding vows at a seaside service.
Long-time residents of Hollywood and Ridge Manor, Florida, Bob and Penny moved to Ben Lomond, California in 2009 to enjoy life with their daughter Courtney and her family.

Mr. Golding worked for the State of Floridas Department of Veterans Affairs for 33 years. He took great pride in his work and had a pronounced sense of patriotism. Mr. Golding volunteered to serve the United States Army in Vietnam in 1969, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, Expert Badge with Rifle Bar, Vietnam Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge. He felt it was his duty to volunteer, as his father, Robert E. Golding, Sr., United States Marine, served in World War II.
Beloved husband of Penny (Scott) Golding of Ben Lomond, California. Loving father of Courtney Golding Leonard and son-in-law Steve Leonard of Scotts Valley, California. Devoted grandfather of Dylan Robert & Cole Prescott Leonard. Cherished son of Barbara S. (Shufelt) Golding of Walpole, Massachusetts and the late Robert E. Golding, Sr. Brother of Sarah E. Amico of Plainville, Massachusetts and the late W. Prescott Scott Golding of Walpole. He is also survived by many other close relatives.

Bob will be laid to rest in the family plot at Terrace Hill Cemetery in South Walpole, Massachusetts. A grave-side Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, September 30th at 10:30am.
