The Walpole Recreation Department and the Walpole Rebel Runners are hosting the Annual 5 for the 4th Trail Run. The three-mile course is located in the Walpole Town Forest. The start of the course is at the lower field at the high school and goes through hills, the White Bridge and the Neponset River in the forest. The event is slated for Sunday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. All proceeds for the event will go to funding fireworks for the Night Before the Fourth show. Prizes will be awarded after the run. The first 100 pre-registered participants will receive a technical running t-shirt.  After May 17, there will be a $5 fee for registering for the run.
