Walpole High Football Team Wins in Shutout Over Needham

The Walpole High football team looked like a team destined for Gillette Stadium against a tough Needham squad.

The Walpole High School football team continue to roll as they beat Needham, 31-0, Friday night at Turco Field.

Walpole put on their "best game of the year, by far," according to Head Coach Barry Greener.

The Rockets came into the game with a record of 5-1. Their only loss was to Bay State Conference foe Weymouth.

Needham - ranked 11th in Mass. by Boston.com and 25th in the state by EPSNBoston.com -  was averaging 30 points per game this season and allowed 13.2 points per game this year before Friday.

The Rebels tallied their third straight shutout and have allowed just 3 points in their last four games.

Tight end Chris Collins led the way with two touchdown catches from quarterback Will Bolster for Walpole.

Connor Moriarty, who filled in admirably for the injured Mike Rando, scored on a 7-yard run. Senior captain Cam Hanley also scored on a 2-yard run.

Now 7-0 on the season, Walpole will face a 3-3 Newton North team.
