Average Waltham Home Price Surpassed $700K In 2021

WALTHAM, MA — The average price of single-family homes in Waltham continues to increase, with no sign of slowing in 2022.

Last year, the average home in Waltham sold for $705,000, according to data released by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. This is a $35,000 increase over 2020, when the average home sold for $670,000.

The comparison is even more drastic when comparing current prices to 2016, then the average home sold for $525,000. That’s a $180,000 increase in five years.

In addition, more homes sold in 2021 than in 2020. Last year, 333 homes were sold in Waltham compared to the 316 in 2020. That number was significantly higher in 2016, however, reaching 377.

In addition, homes sold faster in 2021. The average home was on the market for 26 days, four days shorter than 2020’s average of 30 days. In 2016, homes sold much slower, with the average time on the market at 42 days.
