WALTHAM, MA — It appears a new fast casual Indian restaurant is edging toward opening on Lexington Street next to Macys Liquors.

The owners are set to come before the Waltham Licensing Commission Feb. 24 to final approval to open the restaurant. The people behind the restaurant are proposing to seat 58 people and be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

According to the agenda, Sudhakar Manne will be the manager at the restaurant at 1091 Lexington St. space.

The restaurant's website, which has been up for more than a year, indicates the owners plan to serve up southern India-inspired cuisine.

A sign popped up in the building during the summer of 2019. The website came that winter. In September, the restaurant got permits to install two illuminated wall signs, according to the city. The Facebook post is the latest sign of movement.

The restaurant has not returned request for comment.
